How is an ARACHNOsys enclosure actually made?
We show you how these elaborate enclosures are made!

This is where it all begins: The individual acrylic components are cut out on the laser cutter.

Laser-cut ventilation holes—ideal for keeping tarantulas.

To relieve stress in the acrylic glass, the components are then heated in a special oven. This process is also known as annealing.

The edges of the components are milled at a 45° angle to enable miter bonding.

To prepare for bonding, the individual components are secured to one another with adhesive tape.


The entire enclosure is assembled using adhesive tape, shown here with an ARBOREA XXS.

A TERRESTRIA XS, also secured with adhesive tape and prepared for the actual bonding.

The most delicate step: bonding with a syringe fitted with an especially fine needle.

After bonding, the edges are manually finished with a burner.

At the same time, the polycarbonate doors are cut out on a CNC milling machine.

Assembly begins by attaching the silicone feet...

...and then the doors are fitted with their catches. Each door and catch is checked once again for proper operation before the enclosure is packaged.
